To the unsuspecting and uninitiated, portrait photography can be a confusing and daunting one and with many options. But before you view my price list, I'd like to offer you some FREE words of advice, and caution.

Venturing into the unknown
I have heard horror stories of people turning up to photo shoots or viewing's and being over-sold 100's (in some cases 1000's) of pounds of images that they simply can't afford. They have been lured into the photo shoot with the promise of a "free" print only to discover they are trapped in a high pressure sales environment where the staff aren't actual photographers, but just high pressure sales staff.

Often finance is offered to cover the cost of the prints, a practice I'd personally like to see condemned.

If you must go down this route, please only take cash that you can afford into the sales / viewing with you. And never sign up to anything you are not comfortable doing.

If you come out of the viewing feeling sad and let down that the pictures you so longingly wanted will never see the light of day, then don't despair. Often booking an independent, franchise-free photographer will give you the same results, and often better. Plus it will also give you freedom of frames and more creativity of image.

Remember, some of these franchise companies will not provide you with up-front prices, and will often hide, or tell you that prices are provided at the "viewing" - this is often because the prices are so high, you'd run a mile if you knew them up-front.

'Too good to be true' voucher schemes are also to be steered well clear of as these can often result in 'not valid' sales techniques. I've even heard of them being given as promotion items when buying cars or property!

Now please don't miss-understand me, many of the pictures I have seen done by the companies you see, often in supermarkets and shopping centers, are great - its just that their overheads are massive and they must sell pictures and frames to recoup their franchise / studio costs.

Unfortunately, this practice is creeping into regular, mainstream portrait photography, but not here - I can assure you.

Being up-front

I truly believe that I am one of the most competitively priced photographers in Lancashire, certainly in Preston, and also offer the highest quality portrait pictures - just look at my portfolio.

One thing that definitely doesn't fluctuate from client to client is my print prices, availability and upmost personal attention.

My Prices

Below is a sample of my current price list. There are many more options of print sizes, especially in the 'Canvas Print' price range which I can supply on request.

There is a sitting fee which is currently £30, reduced from £35 for a limited time. This is payable on your photo shoot, and included will be a free 7" x 5" print of your choice.

After your photo shoot, all the images taken will be available (usually within a couple of days) online in a password protected area for you and your family to browse through at your leisure.

Standard Prints

Standard prints are produced on high quality Fuji paper that will not fade. They are printed using the latest development technology labs in Manchester and shipped back to me for final inspection. The colours vibrant and are guaranteed to last unlike home produced print out on inkjet printers.

Colour, black and white, sepia and paper finish (gloss, matt etc.) can be discussed at the time of order and are at no additional cost.

Canvas Prints

Canvas prints are something that truly must be seen to be believed - they really do look like fine quality works of art.

Your canvas orders are reproduced on 100% cotton canvas with a wooden frame and are stunning quality. They are ready to hang, coming complete with hanging string attached to the frame at the back - there is obviously no need to worry about a frame.

They make fantastic gifts for parents and grandparents - or just enjoy them to complete the look of your family home.

Many cheap quality canvas prints are made using a plastic type poly-cotton which will crack eventually, and also look very poor. Do not accept cheap imitation canvas prints.

Delivery, Postage & Packaging

There is a small standard charge of £2.99 to cover costs of postage, packaging and delivery. It is the same charge for standard prints and canvases. This, unfortunately, cannot be refunded for prints that are collected.
